I was very impressed with this one. My husband is a really good cook, he just doesn’t focus on keeping the food fit. When he said he was going to make meatloaf I prepared myself for a very bad for you loaf of meat. I did however pick out the meat so I had some control. When I walked into the kitchen and he was slicing and dicing vegetables, well I was impressed……
What you need for My Husbands Meatloaf:
93/7 ground sirloin
93/7 ground turkey
1/4 cup of whole wheat bread crumbs (we usually use the butt end of our whole wheat bread, blend it in the coffee grinder and in no time you have crumbs).
Green bell pepper
Dice all of your veggies and place them in a big mixing bowl, add your meat, egg, and bread crumbs. Mix well but do not over mix, over mixing ground meat tends to make it tough. Form it into a large loaf and place it onto a baking sheet. My husband also shredded carrots on top, then decorate it with ketchup. Bake at 375 for 30 min or until cooked through.
Yes, it was Saturday so we made some mashers but they were pretty lean as well……
